Paint / Sealer Process Engineer
To design and implement process driven, innovative Paint / Sealer Application solutions to meet the expectations of FANUC America customers. Engineer will be required to perform process engineering analysis and feasibility studies of Paint or Sealer automation equipment required for the release of customer quotations and execute FANUC’s Paint or Sealer and Adhesive Systems business requirements by utilizing this information to meet the customers needs and expectations in the field.
Essential Functions
The Engineering responsibilities will include one or more of the following:
- Design and implement the robot processes and spray application parameter for installation in the end-user facility.
- Install, launch, and optimize the programs at customer sites.
- Develop robot programs offline using Roboguide software.
- Perform process system verification testing at modular build.
- To use offline simulation tools for system design or advanced robot programming.
- Perform spray testing in the laboratory to determine the optimal application settings.
- Provide project and customer troubleshooting and support to existing installations.
- Perform process engineering analysis and feasibility studies of paint automation equipment required for the release of customer quotations.
- Provide advanced process engineering support for difficult applications and field troubleshooting for identified process and application equipment problems.
- Optimize the integration of application equipment.
- Ensure equipment is installed and configured optimally during modular builds and field installation.
- Provide project support to verify and ensure that application equipment is performing as inspected.
- Provide recommendations for application equipment improvements to enhance performance and reduce cost or for updates to the system verification manuals and troubleshooting methods.
Other Functions
- Perform customer demonstrations or system validations.
- Provide technical expertise and assurance to customers during sales appointments with sales personnel.
- Coordinate with other project team members during system installation.
- Provide feedback and suggestions fro product design improvements.
- Provide progress updates as required to management.
Minimum Requirements
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Must be process knowledgeable (know what is required to make a process work.)
- Problem Solving, identifies causes and offer other potential solutions.
- Must be organized and able to manage multiple tasks at one time.
- Strong Interpersonal skills with emphasis on satisfying the Customer.
- Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
- Solid PC skills.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- Bachelor Degree in an Engineering discipline preferred.
- Two years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience with pumping and fluid delivery/control equipment a bonus.
PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY
Execution portion of this job:
- Requires significant amount of walking and standing on grating and concrete floors.
- Install, launch, and optimize the programs at customer sites.
- Proper use of hand tools.
VISUAL ACUITY, HEARING, SPEAKING
- Good visual acuity, hearing and speaking is a must.
ENVIRONMENT AND SCHEDULING
- Exposure to chemicals: Paint and 2K, PVC sealers and 2 Component Adhesives
- Willing to work overtime when required to meet special deadlines in response to customer requirements.
- Domestic and International travel assignments; 80-85% travel is required.
- Passport required.
